Crib bedding

So far Tony and I like the crib bedding. We are obviously dog people and just thought this would totally fit our personalities. Something simple and not green or yellow.

17 Week Update

Developments: Skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — the lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and he's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. He can move his joints, and sweat glands are starting to develop.

Mood: All is good so far. Energy is still up but I still have emotional swings every once in a while.

Thoughts: I am so excited. I never would have thought knowing the gender would bring me so much closer to him. Not that I didn't feel connected but I guess if you are a mother you understand what I am trying to say.

I just realized that Tony and I need to start getting our baby registry. GAH!! Time is flying by so quickly.

It's a boy.

Our son - Anthony Nunzio. We couldn't be more excited.

Crib and other things

We ordered our crib yesterday from Goodnite Rooms. They were having a sale and we got it for 15% off. We took a look at the cribs again and decided on another kind. The color of the crib is Paprika. It is a darker wood than the carmel for the other crib we were going to get. This store has a smaller selection than Treasure Rooms but the prices were way more affordable. We also got a Jack In The Box toy while we were there. It is a Jack Russell dog that pops out. So the name Jack in the box really fits - especially since we have a dog named Jack. It was too cute to pass up.

Last week we got a couple of books for the baby and were looking yesterday at some new bookshelves.

On another note, Tony got his 40 hours back for good. Lets hope that things stay good and he gets to keep them. The extra 8 hours a week of pay will really help. He is the only one that got his hours back. Then again there are only 2 in his department. So I am thinking that the boss knows that the other co-worker might be leaving or that she might get let go. She fell asleep at work the other day. Tony caught her. He didn't say anything to the boss but it is a small enough company to notice things like that.

Yesterday, we went to a wake and funeral for my BIL's father that passed away last weekend. It felt different being at the funeral home. I knew his father but not very well. Just enough I guess. He was a good man that loved his children and grandchildren. I felt very blessed that we are bringing in a new life that was just taken away from us. I am glad that Earl is no longer suffering. He now is with the man upstairs.

While at the funeral, my dad and I were talking about daycare. I asked him if he would be willing to watch the baby 1 or 2 times a week to help with the cost of daycare and so that he can spend some time with this grandchild. He agreed to one day a week. I am not sure when but I know he wants to go back to work part time. I am over the moon. I am sure that Tony's boss will let him work from home a couple of days a week but we still need to ask. Need to find someone that will not charge us a full week for our baby only going at a minimum 2 times a week.

We find out tomorrow what our little baby u is. As long as he/she cooperates. I really hope so.

16 Week Update

Developments:
A growth spurt. The baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, the baby is about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. The legs are much more developed, head is more erect than it has been, and the eyes have moved closer to the front of the head. Ears are close to their final position. The patterning of the scalp has begun, though the locks aren't recognizable yet. Toenails have started to grow. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Mood: No belly shot this week. We had a birthday dinner at our house on Saturday and we were up about every hour waiting for a family phone call. That leads to Sunday of not feeling well and being exhausted. I took a 2 hour nap and that felt amazing. I had Monday and Tuesday off and that was so nice.

Thoughts: We are getting more and more excited everyday. I have a husband that is just over the moon and is just so cute. The big ultrasound is coming up...YAY!!

15 Week Update

Developments:
Measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces. Amniotic fluid through their nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in the lungs begin to develop. Legs are growing longer than the arms now, and can move all joints and and limbs. Although the eyelids are still fused shut, light is still sensed. If a flashlight is shined into the tummy, for instance, the baby will likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but taste buds are forming. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!

Mood: This was helping a friend move. So let's just say that I was exhausted. I didn't actually help move but was there to assist.

Thoughts: Amazing at how tired and worn out I get from not doing too much. Guess my body is working on overdrive. I need to remember that.
