This is our crib. Except this is not the color. I believe the color is carmel.

14 Week Update
Developments:
Tony or Ella can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck their thumb! Due to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout. Tiny features form one expression after another. Kidneys are producing urine, which releases into the amniotic fluid around him/her — a process they'll keep up until birth. They can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch the baby sucking his thumb.
Tony or Ella should be stretching out. From head to bottom, measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and weighs 1 1/2 ounces. The body is growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, the arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. (Legs still have some lengthening to do.) Starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
Mood: So far so good. I feel like I have more energy. That feels wonderful. Heard the heartbeat today so that makes everything so surreal. I never thought that one could feel this way by just hearing the heartbeat. You just don't know until you experience it.
Thoughts: So in 3 weeks we find out the sex of baby U. This time has gone by so fast. I don't want to hurry up any part of this experience because it is going by so fast. However, I would rather call baby U by his/her real name. May 11th is the big ultrasound. Let's hope there is some cooperation. I am not looking forward to downing 24oz of water in 15 minutes and have to hold it for over an hour. Bleh!

13 Week Update - Second Trimester
Developments:
Fingerprints have formed on Tony or Ella's tiny fingertips. The veins and organs are clearly visible through the still-thin skin, and the body is starting to catch up with the head — which makes up just a third of the body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.
Mood: Horrible. I had a headache from Sunday-Thursday. I was just not functional at all. One the I woke up on Thursday and realized that my headache was gone I was a new person. I felt normal again. It's good to feel normal again.
Thoughts: Where has this time gone. Wish I was still running/walking. It is just too uncomfortable when I do either or. Even after I stretched. It was only the groin area. Enough pain to not want to do strenuous activity. I will probably regret it later but what can you do.
Slacker...
I've had a couple people say they have been checking the blog but there have been no updates. Everything is going great.
I was planning on updating this week for 13 weeks but had a headache from Monday until Thursday morning when I woke up. I couldn't get rid of it. I am going to talk to my doctor about it on Monday.
I am officially into the second trimester and I feel like I have a little more energy. I did sleep 12 hours last night. :). I NEVER do that. Regardless of what time I went to bed before I was pregnant Tony and I would be up before 8. I think he is having pregnancy symptoms too because now he sleeps in late.
Onto the weekly updates with belly shots!

12 Week Update
Developments:
Baby U is going to have the most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Fingers will soon begin to open and close, toes will curl, eye muscles will clench, and mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. The intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His/Her face looks unquestionably human: eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his/her head, and ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

This week I was able to get some walks in. Not runs. The weather rained every other day here. Makes it hard to workout outside. It is getting warmer out but not at the temp I like it.
We found a crib yesterday. Very reasonable for the crib and convertible pieces. I think they said it was going to take 8-12 weeks when you place your order. So we have some time.

11 Week Update
Developments:
Baby U's hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden. He/she is busy kicking and stretching, and the tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
Mood: Extremely tired all of the time. I am still not taking naps after work but I am during the weekends. I go to bed early too. My runs pretty much stalled this week.
